About Harvest Hills Solar Project
The Harvest Hills Solar Project, developed by ConnectGen, is a large-scale solar project in the Towns of Genoa and Venice in New York, with a potential to install up to 300 MW of solar and power over 75,000 homes annually. The project offers numerous benefits to Cayuga County and local communities by providing additional tax revenues for critical infrastructure services, creating up to 180 family-wage construction jobs, and paying more than $65 million to local landowners over the life of the project.
The project also implements pollinator-friendly vegetation and supports the Genoa and Venice communities through long-term partnerships with local organizations and community members. ConnectGen's commitment to responsible and safe siting is demonstrated through various measures, including developing a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan, working with state and federal agencies and stakeholders to minimize potential environmental impacts, conducting noise and visual impact assessments, and ensuring responsible decommissioning and restoration at the end of the project's life.
